According to a House of Commons report, “The National Health Service of England and the Social Care Sector of The United Kingdom are facing the most challenging workforce crisis in history.”  

In a survey conducted by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) of over 1900 respondents, the majority of employers (54%) said that they are facing challenges recruiting new staff and 31% said that they are experiencing challenges retaining staff. 

Furthermore, research revealed that the main challenges facing the NHS and the Social Care sector workforce is that a considerable number of candidates are looking for these work opportunities and have no idea that there are so many vacancies in their neighbourhoods. 

On the other hand, employers have no idea about the number of resources (in terms of labour) existing within their neighbourhoods as well.
